Access

Scenic in any season, the Cuyuna Lakes State Trail supports a number of non-motorized activities.

Accessibility

Given it’s gentle slope and 10 foot asphalt trailway, the Cuyuna Lakes State Trail is accessible to a wide range of ages, skill levels and abilities. Adaptive cycling is a popular activity.

Hours

That portion of the Cuyuna Lakes State Trail that lies within the Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area is posted for day use only (closes at 10:00PM). Segments outside the Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area have no posted hours.

Hunting Season

When using the Cuyuna Lakes State Trail, we recommend wearing blaze orange apparel during all fall hunting seasons, and during firearms deer season in particular. In our area, firearms deer season typically lasts a full sixteen consecutive days, extending from the first Saturday in November, through three full weekends. We suggest covering your upper body, at minimum, with blaze orange during this period. Please reference the Minnesota Department of Natural Resource’s Hunting and Trapping page for details.
